After School Program

Location: Park Slope at 16th
Time: 3:30 to 5:30 pm
Age: Kids K to 4th Grade

Spring Semester

April 1 - June 14

Tuition includes class materials and wholesome organic snacks.

We use only non-genetically modified, organic, fresh, and healthy ingredients for cooking.

Our after-school program is a combination of creative activities including arts, cooking, and Spanish immersion classes where kids come to enjoy a playful one-of-a-kind experience.

Our curriculum, developed by creator & founder Luciana Gambarino, teaches fundamentals in the arts, methods, collage, screen printing, sewing projects - upcycling - fiber arts, and culinary skills through the lens of home cooking. Children are immersed in a creative environment and learn cooking, language, or arts through fun, open-ended, and hands-on experiences.

Our cooking class combines the idea of awaking the curiosity to different places around the globe, learning about new cultures, ingredients, and recipes from empanadas and pizza to sushi, dumplings or homemade pasta, sweet healthy desserts or pies, fun healthy snacks, frozen yogurt or vegan recipes.

There is a short period of quiet free time and doodle time before the lesson gets going every day. Students are dismissed at 5pm.

  • The class is a Spanish immersion exploration, using the medium of building and sculpture with recycling materials, colored tape, fabrics, and cardboard boxes.

It's a collaboration with Argentinian sculpture artist Dolores Furtado www.doloresfurtado.net

The program will explore sculpture-making while building a city. Each week, we’ll focus on another part that belongs to a city (school/la escuela, playground/plaza, houses/casas, and more). We’ll move from small model/maquette sizes to larger ones where students can enter. Students will use our “learning from inquiry” methods by asking questions and sharing ideas about the parts of a city.

Hours: 3 to 5 pm. (school pick up available by request)
